Devotions
St. Joseph Parish has a strong devotional life.
We observe traditional customs throughout the liturgical year, such as:
- The rosary is prayed before most Masses.
- The rosary and divine mercy chaplet are recited Thursdays following the morning Mass.
- The St. Michael prayer is recited following most Masses.
- Each Wednesday following morning Mass, the litany of St. Joseph is recited.
- On first Fridays there is Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
- First Saturday Masses alternate with St. George in Linn: St. Joseph has odd-numbered months at 8:00am, St. George has even-numbered months at 8:00am, with confessions beforehand
We observe traditional customs throughout the liturgical year, such as:
- Blessing of pets on or around October 4 for the feast of St. Francis of Assisi
- Procession to the cemetery and blessing of graves on All Souls Day (November 2)
- Blessing of chalk on Epiphany
- Blessing of candles on February 2
- Blessing of throats on the feast of St. Blaise (February 3)
- St. Joseph's table (March 19)
- Mothers' Mass on September 8
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

The Blessed Sacrament is solemnly exposed and the church open for adoration each first Friday from 8:30am through 6:30am the following Saturday.
The sign-up sheet is available at the church entrance for a week or two before first Friday. |
